The LWML only collects Commemorative Stamps.

A "Commemorative Stamp" is one issued to honor a person or event. It is printed once, in relatively small quantities (typically 50 to 100 million in the U.S.), and withdrawn from sale (if not sold out)

after a specified time, usually about a year. Or at least that's what it used to be - these days, with stamps for insects, aquariums, and

dinosaurs, the definition has been stretched quite a bit. They usually make at least a pretense of a connection to U.S. history or culture,

but let's face it, the name of the game is "market appeal".

  SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDIES

What is an "Associate Member"?

Many winter visitors are active members in their home congregation "up north". For those who are attending here 3 or more months, we offer "associate membership".  You do not have to transfer from your home church.   Associate members may vote in meetings, have a record kept of contributions, receive monthly newsletters, and in all other ways be considered a member of Mountain View.  If this is something you would like to find out about, please contact an elder or Pastor Mark.

New Sunday School Curriculum
Starting in June
Our Sunday School team worked diligently the past couple of months to prayerfully consider a new Sunday School curriculum for MVL.   After much prayer and review we are going to try a trial run of CPH's Growing in Christ curriculum. In then end we decided it proclaimed Christ, had plenty of teacher tools and good connections for parents to use in forming the faith of their children at home. We will start this series in June and carry it through the summer when we will review its fit for MVL. Check out their
website for more information - we want your input parents!

Pictures of the Sunday School kids in Church for the Children's sermon are on the Sunday School page.

We hope you have enjoyed the special music during the year.

CD/DVD copies of the previous polka services,

as well as Juhee Park’s Concert given following the Potato Bake, are available on the bookshelf in the Narthex for a $2.00 donation.

 BULLETIN ANNOUNCMENTS

The deadline for all announcements for the weekly bulletin is 10 am on Tuesdays.

Announcements received after that time will be held until the following week, unless needed for the weekend.

Otherwise, a verbal announcement will be made by the Pastor.

OUTREACH/EVANGELISM COMMITTEE PROGRAMS

We are beginning a campaign of outreach that Apache Junction has not ever seen before.

Several programs are planned to activate our congregation and bring in the unchurched and stagnated christians.  Pastor reported that over 80 percent of the Arizona population do not attend regular church services.  We are not paying attention to the Great Commission!  Prayerfully consider becoming a program manager or

participant in one of the following programs.

TRANSPORTATION - Need to coordinate volunteers that are willing to bring folks to church and the people who are shut-ins, who don't have vehicles, etc.  Eventually, there is a plan to obtain a van or mini-bus for the church.

YOUTH CENTER - Provide a center to be used by Ken Chitwood with stuffed chairs, juice bar, games, and christian supervision. This will be a draw for local young people.  We have a donation already offered from a person not associated with us.

OUTSIDE EVENTS - Regular programs for events in neighborhoods, or, parks.  Cowboy services, sidewalk Bible Study, Roaming VBS, Parades, etc.

Seeing Jesus in New and Exciting Ways - With Your Help!

To become a Sunday School volunteer is to offer a special kind of ministry, one where the volunteer enables a child to see Jesus in new and exciting ways.

Recently I asked the children what their favorite part about Sunday School is, they responded saying:

"Being with friends!"  "Playing games and doing plays." "Learning about God."    "Doing crafts."  "Eating cookies!"

The children of Mountain View love Sunday School and the Sunday School needs more volunteers, people who want to teach, be a helper, play piano, help with crafts, direct or help with plays (like the Christmas production) or assist in any way that matches an individual's gifts. LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED - THIS MAY BE THE VOLUNTEER CALLING YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! Contact either Ken Chitwood (
ken.chitwood@hotmail.com) or [480] 318 8551 or Bonnie Gregrow (bjgregrow@hotmail.com) or leave your name with the church office and we will be in contact with you!
