New Sunday School Curriculum
Starting in June
Our Sunday School team worked diligently the past couple of months to prayerfully consider a new Sunday School curriculum for MVL. After much prayer and review we are going to try a trial run of CPH's Growing in Christ curriculum. In then end we decided it proclaimed Christ, had plenty of teacher tools and good connections for parents to use in forming the faith of their children at home. We will start this series in June and carry it through the summer when we will review its fit for MVL. Check out their website for more information - we want your input parents!
Dear Sunday School Family and Friends,
Ken's Sending Service
Please help your children write their “Letters to God” for Ken's special “Sending Service”. I realize the service isn't until July 13th, but we do need them ahead of time. We would like them written by the children, but if they can't write would you please help them with it and get them to write their name. You can give them to the Sunday School teachers or to Lissa Hogland, who is co-chairing the event. Thank you so much.
Haiti Project
God says when you do for the least of these you do for me. The children at MVLC are putting the principal into action as they raise money to support a child/children from Haiti. They have $84 towards the $120.00 needed to sponsor one child for one year through LCMS World Relief. We are collecting our loose change and finding out it adds up to HELP those in need. God Bless you for helping us share the Love of Jesus with them and together we can make a difference for one or more children in Haiti.
Planet Zoom
VBS starts June 14th - 18th from 9 AM to Noon. Please preregister your children at http://mountainviewlutheran.org/vbs.aspx
On a personal note, I'd like to say, “God Bless your summer, and stay in His Care!” I will be leaving May 17th and will return in the fall, no date is set yet. I so enjoy sharing God's Love with your children. They are a true JOY to me. I shall miss you all, but WILL see you in the fall. God's Blessings be with you.
In Christian Love,
Miss Bonnie
New curriculum, new roster, new committee
Bonnie and I are working in the ideas that parents, teachers and children had for Sunday School and want to continue our work with you. In the next couple months we will call on you to help us formulate our plan for a NEW CURRICULUM that is family-friendly to be launched in the summer. Also, we will have a new roster of classes starting in April. Thanks for all your input.
Seeing Jesus in New and Exciting Ways - With Your Help!
To become a Sunday School volunteer is to offer a special kind of ministry, one where the volunteer enables a child to see Jesus in new and exciting ways. Recently I asked the children what their favorite part about Sunday School is, they responded saying:
"Being with friends!" "Playing games and doing plays." "Learning about God." "Doing crafts."
"Eating cookies!"
The children of Mountain View love Sunday School and the Sunday School needs more volunteers, people who want to teach, be a helper, play piano, help with crafts, direct or help with plays (like the Christmas production) or assist in any way that matches an individual's gifts. LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED - THIS MAY BE THE VOLUNTEER CALLING YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! Contact either Ken Chitwood (ken.chitwood@hotmail.com) or [480] 318 8551 or Bonnie Gregrow (bjgregrow@hotmail.com) or leave your name with the church office and we will be in contact with you!
