Genesis Project is a coalition of churches in the Apache Junction area banded together for the common purpose of aiding the less fortunate by feed the hungry and the homeless and by facilitating hot meals, showers, clothing, and medical services to those in need. Genesis Project is a faith-based 501c3 organization. Our congregation serves a meal to the homeless one day per week out of the Genesis Soup Kitchen.
For the last few years, Mountain view has maintained a great relationship with Desert Vista Elementary School and the Apache Junction School District. Children in our Sunday School have raised funds to purchase books for the students, most recently purchasing Do Unto Otters and presented a copy to each kindergarten student. We also have hosted an assembly at the school in partnership with the Be Kind People Project. Students learn how to be kind and show respect to those around them, including classmates, neighbors, teachers, family and friends. We also have members of Mountain View regularly go to Desert Vista to teach children how to read.
In addition to supporting our local public elementary school, Mountain view also supports A.L.S.O. the Arizona Lutheran Scholarship Organization, which raises funds for students in Lutheran Schools throughout the state.
Mountain View maintains a scholarship fund to assist future church workers. Funds are available for those looking to enter ministry as a Pastor, Deaconess, DCE, DCO, as a Lutheran Teacher, or any other professional church work position in the Lutheran Church. More information is available on the Scholarship website.
